Local mail service operator, SingPost was reported to have said that most residents welcome promotional offers from companies as only 0.8 per cent of the 1.2 million Singapore households chose to opt out of receiving unaddressed advertisements. Not too bad for Singapore! However over the vineyard, it is somewhat deceptive for SingPost to say that residents "welcome the catalogues and discount coupons they receive in their mailboxes" when the company make it so hard for residents to opt out from the mailing service.



When preparing advertising to promote their businesses, many people overlook the most obvious way to reach local customers - through an email marketing campaign.  They're less messy than traditional pinboards or billboards and they may not seem as important as the published media, but they're widely read - and what's more, they tend to be read by the sort of people who are most effective at spreading word of mouth. Making effective use of email marketing can significantly increase the amount of attention your business gets, at very little cost.


  
 


Now how about giving out flyers at places like the train station or bus stop. Apparently standing in the middle of the way where people exit or make entrance, and especially during rush hour at the SMRT Station. We see that the security guards don't even bother to ask those flyer distributor to stand elsewhere. Some even push the flyers into your hands. What does that make up to?


How about putting up a advertisement banner on a tree in a carpark? Maybe not in Singapore. Get ready for a hefty fine! So what now again?
